The Freeman International Institute
a Behavioral Heath Education and Research Foundation
Overview
Collaborations
The Freeman International Institute is an organization (non-profit status
has been applied for) committed to providing high-quality education and
training for health care professionals since the early 1990s by Dr. Sharon and
since the late 1970s by Dr. Arthur Freeman. As of September 2005 Dr.
Sharon Freeman donated the resources to break The Freeman International
Institute off from the parent organization in order to make it a not for profit
organization (applied for) so that many others could benefit from their
expertise in Cognitive Behavior Therapy which is well known throughout the
world. As a result, The Freeman International Institute applied for non-profit
status and will continue to provide training to counseling professionals and
the general public on topics related to behavioral health, substance use
disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders and other subjects of interest to
healthcare and mental health professionals working with those who are
suffering from physical and/or mental illness.
The Freeman International Institute is committed to obtaining training
grants and collaborating with, but not limited to, The National Institutes of
Health, National Institutes of Mental Health, The Department of Health and
Human Services, The Addiction Technology Transfer Centers, The Center
for Substance Abuse Treatment, The Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Services Administration, The National Institutes of Drug Abuse, and all state,
national and international universities that wish to further the work of the
Institute’s mission regarding dissemination of health and science information.
The Freeman International Institute collaborates with organizations
throughout the United States and the World. Our ongoing collaborations have
included ALETIA in Enna, Sicily, Centro de Terapia de Conducta in Valencia,
Spain and Center För Cognitiv Psykoterapi och Utbildning i Göteborg, in
Goteborg, Sweden and Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj Nopoca, Romania.
Many of our trainings are full-day seminars offering 6-8 hours of continuing
education credit for a wide variety of disciplines. We also offer multi-day
conferences featuring more thorough training in their respective areas. For a
